2018 Taipei International Photography & Media Equipment Exhibition

October 28, 2018

The 2018 Taipei International Photography & Media Equipment Exhibition was held from 18th to 21st October at Nangang Exhibition Center. All the big camera and camera accessory brands were exhibiting, offering a hands-on experience. I went there to get a hands-on experience of the new Nikon Z7, the first time I would get the chance for that. The Canon EOS R was also displayed there, and I wanted to experience that one, too. Here's my report from the exhibition with lots of pictures.

A summary

The exhibition area was relatively small, but very well visited (it felt a bit like a mini-Computex). Nikon had the biggest and most crowded exhibition area, followed by Canon, then Sony and finally Olympus and Panasonic. DJI had a nicely branded small booth as well, and I have to mention Benro and Manfrotto, who had good visibility. For some reason Fuji didn't exhibit. The biggest draw was the displayed Nikon Z7, followed by the Canon EOS R. There were long lines at the Nikon Z7 demo areas. They had 3 or 4 items displayed, and it took me some 10-15 min of waiting to get my hands on the camera (similar was true for the Canon EOS R). I'll post another post about my hands-on experience. All in all it was a great show, and I think a quite successful one. More to come.
