Nikon Z6 and Z7 prices in Taiwan and USA

November 21, 2018

The Nikon Z Series cameras (the Z7 and Z6) are being sold in Taiwan very recently. The Z7 started in September and was in big shortage. I've heard there was a limitation of 7 cameras per day, which means the monthly stock of these cameras in Taiwan was only 200. The Z6 has started to sell a few days ago (here is a press release on Nikon Taiwan's website). These cameras are luckily more or less the same price like in the US, but when it comes to certain bundles Taiwan has some different pricing than elsewhere (for example there's no 100 USD discount on the FTZ adapter if you purchase it with a body, the discount is around 60 USD), however there's a nice XQD card + reader + battery bundle in Taiwan which I have not seen in the US.

These are the current prices of Nikon Z System in Taiwan and below in the US:

Keep in mind, that if you buy the camera while traveling to Taiwan, you are eligible for a 5% tax refund. If you travel to Japan and buy it there, you will get 8% tax refund. I also suggest you to check the exchange rate of your currency before you decide to go into something like that. Do also remember that there will be no warranty. I bought a lot of Nikon gray market gear, but those were DSLR bodies and lenses, a proven Nikon quality over a couple of decades. When it comes to the new Z System, it still has to be seen whether the durability is as good as that. I'd probably not buy gray market or out of country right now.

    1. Go to Camera street, most shops are fine there.
