EXCLUSIVE: New Nikon Mirrorless Teaser Images

July 23, 2018

My friend from Japan sent me these exclusively for my blog: They most likely show the new Nikon Mirrorless camera and lens mount. I do not have more information on these images, but I am glad that I have been faster than Nikon Rumors.

The new lens mount.

Nikkor logo.

Observe how the lens disappears in the mount.

Just enjoy these pics for what they are. I think the launch is right around the corner, probably extremely close within days. What do you think? Leave a comment below. I think I am excited!

    1. Looks more like a Panasonic to me. At the end what matters most is why I should buy it. I love my D810, and I will probably upgrade to D850 in the upcoming years. I'm not into video, nor low light photography, so this camera might not matter to me much.

    2. Looks like Sony and Canon had a child, lol. Anyway, exciting news for camera fans!

    3. Nikon is playing catch up, Canon has nothing to compete with Sony A7 cameras! LOL! This mirrorless will at best compete with the A6000! Nikon is shit, so is Canon, Fuji and all the other camera companies who are stuck in 1970ssss... Sony is destroying everybody with their mirrorless cameras! They have a superior mount, top quality bodies, and amazing autofocus! Fuji tried to come close, and then just gave up. Where is Fuji full frame camera? They're not able to make one, haha.. Idiots. Sony will be market leader soon, Nikon can suck it!

    4. They needed a mirrorless camera with the DSLR ergo in order to keep the fans on both systems.

    5. to @SONY ALPHA 4 EVA:
Sony is destroying nothing except your bank account. If sony exists, it's thanks to the dumb fanboys who spend their time fantasizing on the sony gear while the others make photos ... But hey!! I can understand your reaction, the Tenors like Nikon & Canon shakes a little rude fanboys at such moments.
Go learn photography, you'll feel less useful when Sony will take its legitimate place in ML as in DSLR soon ;)

    1. Oh, really? Damn! Why does this always happen to small blogs? It's not fair! Now the pics are spreading like wild fire after I shared them on Twitter. I should have watermarked them, but then I thought it's an asshole move, since I don't own them.

    3. My friend told me you linked to my blog! Thanks Ken, it's really great to know that honest people still exist. The whole YouTube and photography blog community is rotten in my opinion. Thanks for exposing them for what they are. I'm sure you must be non-stop under attack from their minions. I just saw some of those on Nikon Rumors, I'm afraid to comment there and say something about this.

    4. @TAIPEI GEEK: I think I really like your stuff much better than that Nikon Rumor blog. All he does is repost Nikon corporate shit and some sales discounts. He's not written anything of substance for some time... And now he's just reposting from some Chinese websites and watermarking as his own. He has no shame..

    5. Hi Taipei Geek, on the NR disqus comments, it appears the first of these pics were posted in the comments section from a Kevin who apparently got it from Xitek forums. I think if you were the original source, just send him an email and after checking the timelines I'm sure you'll be credited. Cheers

  3. I follow Nikon Rumors for some time. Unfortunately it's the only Nikon blog that is constantly updating. I just discovered your blog through The Angry Photographer, and I love it. Will you be posting more on Nikon?

    1. Thanks, and welcome to my blog. I wish I could write more, but no time. I have a real job unlike some other bloggers who post often. I'm quite well connected in the camera industry, though. I might start leaking more often from now on, haha.

    1. You sound very ignorant. Peter is a decent family guy, who happens to love Nikon. He's also a great photographer, and loving father. He enjoys nature, and composition.

    2. Also, I am his friend from Japan. Don't use strong word for Peter. Thank you!

    3. @うーたん: Look, I don't know you, but that guy, that friend of yours, he's not what you think he is. I saw him posting on YouTube videos, and inciting violence against The Angry Photographer for example. He's also using several aliases online and trolling other blogs. Maybe he is friendly to you, because he's getting something from you? What kind of information are you giving him?

    4. I just give him some translation from Japan website, he was very nice. I like his ブログ and Nikon camera.

    5. I think you are a bit too naive, my friend.

  6. The size of the camera body seems to be something like the D7200. I just took mine and checked, it kinda looks like the one the woman is holding. The lens is the most interesting part here: Look at the size of that mount: It's gargantuan! It looks a bit like the P1000, where the lens totally disappears within the body. Crazy! Will this be a low-light beast? It seems that way considering the teaser video, and also the woman appears to be shooting in low light when it's getting dark (looks like dusk to me).

    1. I'm totally stoked! It looks like it's a low light beast, maybe even great for video. We need to see some real world testing, a thorough examination. It may be that it's still way behind Sony and Fuji in many aspects, but I hope they developed something where they can beat them. Also wonder what the price will be. Knowing Nikon, they'll charge a lot.

  8. Hi! I follow your blog for some time, this is the first time I'm commenting. I'm also a big Nikon fan, and really excited to see their new camera come to light! Thanks for sharing, and great content as usual. Don't bother with others taking your content, you can't change them. Keep up the good work!

  12. Sony Mount won't really allow for super fast lenses; that was something Nikon learned from the F-mount; why they won't make the same mistake twice. Look how much room there is vs the sensor in the Z-mount vs the Sony E-mount. Like Ken said; the E-mount was designed for an APS-C but they just stuck with it. The Sony Fan boys don't even know what film-to-flange distance is.. Nor what an oblique angle is.. but they will pontificate about how great their camera is that is on backorder; and will be obsolete in 6 months.. And if you shoot Sony and happen to have hands; sorry to hear that.. WORST ERGONOMICS EVER. Did you want to be productive?? Well, get a college degree in Sony menu systems then... Because ergo and menu apparently aren't things Sony cares about..

  13. Sony fanboys don't care about aperture, or lens technology, or optical science or even photography. all what they care about is model numbers of sony gear, typical "Gear whores"

  14. Anti-Sony fanboys don't care about anything but complaining about Sony fanboys. Work those clits!

  15. All these nasty comments between these camera youtube bloggers reminds me of the WWE professional wrestlers! Soon we will see them with make up and costumes and threatening each other with insults of their camera gear! All we need now is a mediator-compare host to interview these characters! :)
