The Nikon Z fc is one of the most popular cameras of 2021, and by far more important than the likes of Sony Alpha A1 which delivered some amazing specs, but is way too expensive for your average consumer. The Z fc with its affordable price of around 1000 USD is a camera for everybody, and offers an amazing digital and analog experience. Much better than Fuji, there's no doubt about it. But what is currently missing are some amazing native compact manual lenses that would complement the camera, however there is an alternative available: ZEISS ZM lenses (lenses that are made for Leica M mount). I decided to create a list of best lenses that could be adapted to Nikon Z fc, and I believe they need to be silver in order to complement it.

The weight of Nikon mirrorless vs Nikon DSLR

 

A lot of people say they switched to mirrorless to save weight and bulk, but that doesn't always seem to make sense these days. I looked into some data and compared Nikon's Z kit with a similar or somewhat equivalent Nikon F kit. You might be surprised, because the weight differences are not so much different.

What I wanted to do is compare cameras with a similar form factor, similar sensor, and comparable lenses. Battery life is also very important to me. All these factors were considered for this comparison. You might agree or disagree, but this is how I feel the two systems should be compared.

I started to get into photography in 2014 when I bought my first DSLR: The Nikon D5300. A year later I upgraded to the Nikon D7100 and then finally made the jump to full frame with the Nikon D810 in 2018. My girlfriend used to have a Pentax K-x with a zoom lens since 2009, which I used to borrow a lot in the early 2010s, so I do have some DSLR experience from those times, however I mainly used the camera in program mode at that time, and often took some terrible photos because I just didn't spend much time to learn about it.

Nikon just launched a whole slew of exciting new products to kick off the new decade. If I could, I would of course love to have all of them, but these products are more high-end and hence the prices are also higher. The D780 in particular looks really great to me, but for now my trusty D810 is serving me well and I have no urgent need to buy a new camera. My next camera will probably be the Z6, but if one day my D810 breaks down, I would also consider to get the D780, because I am still a DSLR fan and have a plenty of native F-mount glass that I would not want to let go that easily. This photo gallery was created as an accompanying post to my Nikon 100mm f/2.8 Series E lens review. These are heavily post processed RAW files in Lightroom converted to JPEG. All images were shot with the Nikon D810, focussed manually, in October 2019 in 3 different suburbs around Taipei City. The primary goal of this post is to show what kind of street photography this lens is able to produce, and how it performs in various situations at various aperture values. List of all Voigtländer SL lenses for Nikon F-mount

Voigtländer is one of my favorite lens brands after Nikon. I bought my first Voigtländer lens in 2015, it was the Nokton 58mm f/1.4 SL II N which I paired along with my Nikon D7100. Shortly after that I also bought the Color-Skopar 28mm f/2.8 Aspherical SL II and I love both ever since. I loved the all metal design, that made these lenses look premium as compared to Nikon's F-Mount G lenses. The only downside was these lenses are manual focus only, but I was willing to accept that in exchange for a great built quality, great image quality and a smaller foot print. Voigtländer SL lenses (lenses specifically designed for SLR cameras) are optically superb, but they're currently produced and marketed by the Japanese company Cosina. While Voigtländer had a heavy focus on SL lenses in the early 2000s, as of today their main focus are lenses for Sony's E-mount. At its peak there were 10 SL lenses for Nikon's SL mount, but right now there are only two in production. Lenses for other SLR mounts by companies like Pentax and Canon are completely discontinued. There's a vibrant market for second hand lenses on eBay, so it's still possible to get minty versions of most lenses listed in this post, especially from Japan. Due to great quality and durability, these lenses are still looking great today and will be for the foreseeable time.

This is a list of all Nikon's Z Series lenses for their mirrorless cameras. This list will be constantly updated, and it's meant to serve as a helping tool for those like me who are planning to enter the Z system. The lenses are sorted by the widest focal length. If the widest focal length is same, those lenses will be sorted by the widest aperture. All lenses are displayed with the relative size of each other, so it's easy to compare the size difference by just comparing two images.

I knew that Nikon has a huge native lens selection (as compared to Sony's measly one), but I never expected it to be so amazingly huge.
